What is a Trinity SELT?

Trinity Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) are approved for UKVI visa, British Citizenship and Leave to Remain applications.

Trinity GESE exams are one-to-one, face-to-face assessments of speaking and listening skills with a Trinity examiner.

Which SELT exam do I need?

A1 — Further Leave to Remain / Tier 2

GESE Grade 2 (CEFR A1)

  • 6-minute speaking and listening test
  • Provisional results on the same day
  • Certificate usually sent within 7 days

A2 — Visa extension

GESE Grade 3 (CEFR A2)

  • 7-minute speaking and listening test
  • Provisional results on the same day
  • Certificate usually sent within 7 days

B1 — Settlement or British Citizenship

GESE Grade 5 (CEFR B1)

  • 10-minute speaking and listening test
  • Provisional results on the same day
  • Certificate usually sent within 7 days
