Trinity SELT preparation courses

PolySkill provides exam preparation courses for:

  • Trinity GESE Grade 2 Level A1 Speaking and Listening
  • Trinity GESE Grade 3 Level A2 Speaking and Listening
  • Trinity GESE Grade 5 Level B1 Speaking and Listening

All of our SELT preparation courses are adapted to your requirements. They include 1:1 lessons with a teacher as well as work to complete in your own time. You can have lessons at our school in Ilford, or have online lessons.

Trinity provides Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) across the UK. These tests are approved for applications to UKVI for visas, British Citizenship and Leave to Remain.

Which Trinity SELT exam do I need for my UKVI visa application?

GESE: Graded Examinations in Spoken English (A1–B1)

Trinity’s Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) are one-to-one, face-to-face assessments of speaking and listening skills with a Trinity examiner.

Further Leave to Remain (A1) / Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visas (A1)

For Further Leave to Remain/Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visas you must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level A1 in Speaking and Listening.

Trinity’s GESE Grade 2 exam (CEFR A1)

  • 6 minute speaking and listening test
  • Provisional results on the same day
  • Certificate usually sent within 7 days
  • Speaking and listening only

Further Leave to Remain (visa extension) (A2)

People extending their Further Leave to Remain visa after two-and-a-half years in the UK now need to take a speaking and listening English language test (A2) at a SELT centre. Trinity’s GESE Grade 3 is at this level.

Trinity’s GESE Grade 3 exam (CEFR A2)

  • 7 minute speaking and listening test
  • Provisional results on the same day
  • Certificate usually sent within 7 days
  • Speaking and listening only

Indefinite Leave to Remain (to settle) or British Citizenship (B1)

For Indefinite Leave to Remain (to settle) or British Citizenship you must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in Speaking and Listening.

  • 10 minute speaking and listening test
  • Provisional results on the same day
  • Certificate usually sent within 7 days
  • Speaking and listening only
